Hi!

This email includes…

1. How & Why to Pre-Order from Dines Farm

2. Are you getting all the CSA emails?

1. How & Why to Pre-Order from Dines Farm

If you’re a vegan/vegetarian, consider emailing this to your meat eating friends & family.

If you do eat meat, read on, and also consider forwarding this to potentially interested friends and family to support our other local farmer at the CSA, Jay Dines of Dines Farm.

It’s time for BBQs and family gatherings and what’s better than celebrating with Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Steaks and Ribs from Dines Farm (and anything else they have). You need to pre-order to make sure that when you show up at the CSA this week, Dines Farm hasn’t run out of what you want.

ALSO, if you want larger quantities of something PLEASE pre-order as one person can deprive everyone else of Hot Dogs, Ribs, Hamburgers, etc for the week (it’s been happening lately).

If you’ve never seen it, or it’s been a while, here’s the NY Times article about their Hot Dogs…

TO PRE-ORDER FOR DINES FARM…

Please email your order by 12pm, noon, Tuesday, June 9th.. Allow more time for special requests.

Email your order to: dinesfarms@gmail.com

In this email you MUST include:

Your phone number

Otherwise the farm won't know WHO placed the order, WHERE TO CALL in case you're running late or haven't shown up (it happens...people forget) and WHERE the order should end up.

You should get a confirmation email. If you don't, call Larry to check on your order (914-403-5828). Also, call Larry if you have any questions or need help placing your order.

Payment is made when you pick up your order this week. Acceptable for payment are cash, a check, or a debit/credit card.

2. Are You Getting all the CSA Emails???

I’m writing to everyone individually (about 100 emails) because some of you aren’t getting CSA emails and only one or two of you are letting me know and everyone should be getting them.

Please let me know! We should be able to work out why (in theory J ).

Some of the basic reasons why not…

1. Is my email address in your email address book? dskolnick@pb.net

2. Have you been checking your junk/spam folder? Some of your emails have ended up there so I do check it whenever checking email

3. Have you checked with your Internet Service Provider to find out if they are blocking these emails, why and how to make them stop?

4. Do you have some sort of filter program on your computer that’s blocking these emails?

I have to say, the emails are spam fodder because the “To” person on the email keeps changing as the CSA email list grows and shrinks over the season AND it often contains website addresses and attachments which computers don’t like because they think it will be evil things that will harm it.

However, have no fear! All the emails are being posted on a new blog created by our CSA computer person, Jeff Tanenbaum. So, if you’re not getting the emails or think you’re not, make sure you bookmark this website and check.
