Greetings!
This Saturday is the last chance to visit out CSA farm,
Green Thumb Organic Farm, and get a behind the scenes tour for the 2025 season.
Our farm doesn’t do farm tours for anyone but CSA Members,
or do agritourism in general (though they do have a playground area by the Farm
stand which is an agritourism kind of thing π), they’re just a real,
working, for-profit (meaning they’re not non-profit getting grants and tax
breaks), 400 year-old family farm. So this is a rare treat that only happens
twice a year.
This is a rain or shine event and at the moment (and this
could change), the prediction is for NO rain.
Saturday, October 25th
11am to noon OR noon to 1pm
Green Thumb CSA Annual Fall Harvest Farm Tour
Green Thumb Farm
829 Montauk Hwy
Water Mill
RSVP by responding to this email or leaving a phone
message at 631-421-4864, and tell us your name and the total number of
people coming with you (there’s only so much room in the wagon), and which tour
time you’d like to attend. if you are sharing with someone, you need to use
BOTH your name and the name of the CSA member you’re sharing with.
The CSA farm tour is for CSA Members and their immediate
family members only. Family friendly event…kids welcome! π
If you have any questions about any of the food you’ve
gotten at our CSA, or about Green Thumb Farm and its farmers, OR any questions
about your home vegetable/herb/flower garden, this is the time and place to
ask! π
This will be a riding tour on a large tractor-pulled wagon
(kids love this π). We’ll see various
parts of the farm and probably get to feed some animals, maybe get to pick some
food from the fields, and get Pumpkins at the end (not necessarily organic and
not necessarily from our farm, BUT meant more for decorating though they can be
eaten). This is a rain or shine event. I’ve gone in the rain and have had just
as much fun as when it wasn’t π. However, if we’re
talking torrential downpours or a hurricane, it would be cancelled.
All purchases made at the farm stand for attendees of the farm tour will receive a 10% discount.
After the last farm tour, some of us will go to Barrow Food
House in Aquebogue for lunch and of course, you’re welcome to come along. Check
out the menu for Barrow Food House…

The only thing I didn’t care for on the menu (and have eaten
most of it π) was the Latkes (thought they were too
greasy), but it’s been a while so I might try them again to see if they’ve
gotten any better π.
And others might be going to Four Oaks in Southampton
(there’s a coupon involved that you’d get) so if you want to join them there,
here’s the menu…

Am planning to go at some later date but not today (thought
I’d go for breakfast before our farm tour but don’t think I’ll be getting up
early enough to make that work).
Going so far…
