Greetings!
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. wrote, “A mind that is stretched
by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”
Come join fellow CSA members for a new (and delicious)
experience at the first CSA Culinary Extravaganza of the season (better late than
never 😊 )!
This time we’ll be staying local (headed to NYC next
time…more info on that TBA), and having a Bitter Melon 101 Session at Thai USA
in Huntington.
What does that mean?
Everyone can order and pay for their own dishes, but we’ll
all be treated to some extra Bitter Melon dishes to try (Bitter Melon stir fry
with Egg…typical Thai style, Bitter Melon w/out Egg…if there are any vegans,
Bitter Melon Soup…non-vegan). You can order Bitter Melon at Thai USA (though
it’s not listed on the menu) BUT they don’t always have it. If they do, it’s
only the stir-fry version (which you can order vegan style if that’s what you
prefer).
Dishes enjoyed lately (besides Bitter Melon 😊
)…
Veggie Basil Rolls (with a Peanut/Hoison dipping sauce) – on
the special menu
Vegetable Soup
Bao Buns (Pork Belly or Duck…have had both) – on the special
menu
Gang Ped Puk with Brown Rice (not on any menu but it’s
mixed veg with a red curry sauce and usually get this one with Tofu but you can
add any protein on the menu)
Alternate between House Salad and the Som Tum Salad (Green
Papaya)
Haven’t eaten everything on the menu but have had a number
of the dishes (maybe half?)
We’re up to 9 folks so far, and
there’s room for more…
