Happy Autumn!
Protest scheduled for THIS SATURDAY about what’s
been going on with the Cinema Arts Centre, AND to help insure our CSA continues
to have a home!!! See below, and our CSA Events email, for details.
Flowers anyone? If you don’t have a Flower
Share, this week there will be TWO Flower Shares for sale at $16 each. I was
told they would be a mixed bunch (I think this is the last week…apologies for
not keeping track but the farm has π). If you want
them reserved for you, respond to this email before noon today, or get to the
CSA early to make sure they don’t get sold first.
PLEASE READ – If you want/need to get any
messages to the CSA during CSA hours on Thursday PUHLEEZ π
insist the Box Office staff transfers the call to the CafΓ©. Tell them you NEED
to speak to someone in the CSA. The other week a CSA Member left a message at
the box office, and what should have been a simple box office pickup ended up
being more complicated than either party (CSA Member and me) wanted. I’m sorry
if it might not be in your comfort zone to be so insistent, but it seems that’s
what might be needed to get the job done π. Will also try and make
sure that every week someone from the Cinema staff will remind the Box Office
folks to do so. It’s not my place to give Cinema staff instructions, so it’s
not as if I can do this.
FUN THING…If any CSA members have any events
they’re participating in/organizing/etc. you get the idea π,
and would like your fellow CSA member so attend or participate, please let me
know and will try and get it in our CSA Events emails (I say “try” because I
don’t always have the time to do so or I might forget, but will make a good
faith effort to make that happen…and I can be reminded π).
CSA weather report…
Warm (mid-70s)
Do NOT leave your CSA Shares in your car! They will
not be happy, and neither will you when your food doesn’t last as long as it
could. Over 40 degrees in your car and your CSA Share’s not happy (and inside
your car with closed windows it’s probably hotter than you’d think… and it is –
check this out… https://abc7news.com/how-hot-can-it-get-inside-a-car-baby-in-gets/2266627/#:~:text=Here's%20a%20look%20at%20just%20how%20hot%20it%20can%20get%3A&text=When%20it's%2080%20degrees%20outside,and%20119%20after%2030%20minutes
)
***Important…if you ever send anyone to the
CSA to pick up food for you, please tell them to BRING BAGS (and make
sure at least one of them is plastic for the wet foods so you don’t get the dry
ones wet which would not be a good thing…will make the foods that don’t want to
be wet rot faster)!
This email includes…
- What you need to know
- Contest!
- Save Our Cinema Protest THIS SATURDAY!
- No more drought for Huntington…but not for all of Long
Island!
- Click activism – every little bit counts and sometime
it doesn’t take much to make a difference!
- Food safety and COVID, and colds and the flu, and even
food poisoning and cyclosporiasis…
- CSA Fall Farm Tour coming up and some news from the
farm
- How best to contact the CSA/suzanne
- Interested in either having a vegan Thanksgiving this
year, OR just learning to cook some delicious vegan dishes?
- Emergency situations at the CSA (hurricanes/electronic
communication glitches/medical emergencies, etc.)
- Miss going to the Cinema Arts Centre? Miss their silent
movie program with live music? Check out the first pop-up of Cinema in
Exile!
- What you actually got last week!
- And now, for something completely different…
*Anything in any of our CSA emails not directly related to
the functioning of the CSA, feel free to take or leave at your discretion, and
anything related to health issues always consult with your physician(s) before
taking any action.
1.What you need to know (will be either new info to
first time CSA members, or reminders/old hat to returning CSA members)…
Most immediate helpful hints…
- Bring at least TWO bags to the CSA EVERY WEEK
for wet and dry food items (and never the twain should meet)
- When packing up your CSA food, start at the left side
of the long table and work your way to the right and out the garden door.
Why? We set out the food to be packed in that order so the heaviest food
items will be on the bottom of your bag, and your food won’t get squished
(another way to make your food go bad faster), and if you separate the wet
from the dry foods you’re doing pretty good on having your food last
longer! π
- When you get your food home, if it’s in a plastic bag
take it OUT of the plastic bag and store elsewhere…even if it’s in another
plastic bag (the original bag will be wet and your food won’t be happy
there for long)
- Plan on using your food in the order of how long it
will reasonably stay fresh.
Before you leave the house…BRING BAGS
to pack up your food (CSA members are responsible for packing up their own
shares) – canvas/plastic/paper…bring whatever suits your fancy. The CSA does
NOT provide bags for CSA members. Consider stashing wet and dry bags in every
vehicle you own or might end up driving (or someone would use to pick up for
you) and stash them in the glove compartment, hatch, trunk…whatever π
so you never have to end up not having anything to pack your CSA Share in.
Time – 3:30pm to 7:30pm
Place – Sky Room CafΓ© in the Cinema Arts
Centre at 423 Park Ave, Huntington
Parking – park in the all the way around at
the back of the building by the day care center (you’ll see a fenced in
playground area with a sandbox)
When you arrive at the CSA –
- Check in at the sign-in desk with our friendly CSA
worker
- Read the Wall Chart that tells us every week what we’re
getting, how much we’re getting, and what the farm charged us for it…some
weeks it’s take one of everything but…SOME WEEKS IT’S NOT!!! So you have
to make sure you read the Wall Chart every week, and not assume anything.
You can also ask your fellow CSA members that are working that day what
the story is for the day (they should have name tags on).
Before you leave the CSA – Make sure you have
everything on the list (like the story of the 3 bears…not too much, not too
little, but just right π)! If you get to talking
with people, have kids with you, etc., it can be easy to be distracted and if
you get home and find out you don’t have everything that was on the list,
you’re out of luck because at 7:31pm the food is donated to a local food organization
(Community Solidarity…read more about them in the CSA Events email under
Tuesdays) that’s waiting to pick it up and get on their way.
CSA words to live by…when trying any new food you’ve
never eaten before…START SLOW!!! Read up about it (make sure it doesn’t
interfere with any medications you might be taking or any health conditions you
might have), see what traditional/conventional ways it’s prepared (cultures
that have been eating certain foods for many years basically have a good idea
what they’re doing, and we can learn from that), try a small portion, see how
your body/digestive system reacts, and proceed from there. Then try preparing
in different ways and see what you come up with, and feel free to ask for suggestion/info/recommendations!
Paraphrased wise words by a nutritionist that I read (and
don’t remember where I read it or who said it), BUT it’s pretty smart info
regarding eating seasonally in our part of the globe…
Spring… is all about detoxing (what we get
from the CSA at this time is a lot of green things that are really good to help
clean us out from whatever we accumulated during the winter)
Interesting piece about spring greens (out of the 14 listed,
we get 12 of them with our CSA…watercress nutritionally and botanically similar
to Curly Cress/Peppercress) and detoxing…
http://www.nourishingmeals.com/2012/03/detox-with-spring-greens.html
Summer is all about being hydrated (the
popular summer foods are all full of water…Tomatoes, Lettuces, Summer Squashes,
etc.)
Fall/winter is all about storing energy (we
get all the dense vegetables…Sweet Potatoes, Winter Squashes, etc…. that are
energy powerhouses to fuel us through the winter) to get you through the winter
to make it to…Spring!
Week #18
October 1, 2026
1. Leeks – 1 bunch
2. Beans, Snap: Green – 1 bag
3. Collard Greens – 1 bunch
4. Broccoli, Sprouting: Purple* – 1 bunch
5. Lettuce – 1 head
Total Items: 5
Flower Share – Week #10 (?)
Mixed (might be the last week…sorry I haven’t kept better
track but the farm has π)
*Good general info and good info how to cook Purple
Sprouting Broccoli. For some reason, these are both British websites (both talk
about “spring” but most any spring crop you can get another planting to get
more in the early fall which is why we’re getting it now π)…
https://tinandthyme.uk/2026/04/purple-sprouting-broccol
If you’re interested in the health properties of this veg…DO
NOT MICROWAVE TO COOK OR HEAT UP (within 60 seconds, the cancer preventing
sulforaphane will be gone and you might as well be eating paper as far as the
cancer preventing properties go…and no, paper doesn’t have any cancer
preventing properties π). This same issue goes
for all veg in the Brassica family and for Garlic. Happy to email you the
studies about this if you’d like.
2.Contest!

3.Save Our Cinema Protest THIS SATURDAY!
Attend this rally/protest if you want to help insure that
our CSA has a home for the next 30 years (next year will be our CSA’s 30th
anniversary π), and to support the work that’s being done
to get Dylan Skolnick reinstated as the Executive Director and start over with
a new board of directors…
Saturday, October 3rd
5pm to 7pm
Save Our Cinema Protest
Cinema Arts Centre
Corner of Park Ave & Main St.
Huntington
For more info (and to sign up if you’re not getting emails
about updates and events)…
https://www.saveourcinema.org/new-page
Gather with friends and family to show support, protest the
actions of the Cinema Arts Centre’s board for firing Dylan Skolnick, to demand
the return of Dylan Skolnick as Executive Director, AND demand that the entire
current board resign!
Here’s some fun ideas for picket signs (thanks to AI…before
it destroys the human race and the environment π)…
Classic Hollywood & Iconic Quotes
- "Frankly, my dear,
we DO give a damn. Rehire Dylan!" (Gone with the Wind)
- "May the Force be
with Dylan. Dismantle the Board!" (Star Wars)
- "You're gonna need
a bigger board—one that respects the founders!" (Jaws)
- "Fasten your
seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride until Dylan is back." (All
About Eve)
π₯ Independent &
Art House Cinema
Because Dylan spent decades shaping the CAC into a premier
national art house, these lines appeal to the core film-buff demographic:
- "This Firing is
Pure Fiction. Bring Back Dylan!" (Pulp Fiction)
- "A Cinema without
Skolnick is a Cinema without Soul."
πΏ "Cut!"
& Production Puns
- "Wrong Cut! Re-edit
the Board's Decision."
- "Bad Script.
Terrible Plot Twist. REHIRE DYLAN."
- "Fade to Black on
Board Overreach!"
- "That's a Wrap on
Transparency. We Want Answers!"
- "Don't Project
Vague Excuses on Us!" (Referencing the board's vague "serious
misconduct" claim).
π️ The Heritage &
Legacy Theme
- "Honoring the
Script Vic and Charlotte Wrote: Rehire Dylan." (Referencing
Dylan's parents who co-founded the theater on a bedsheet in 1973).
- "Cinema Arts is a
Community, Not a Boardroom."
- "Don't Let the Bad
Guys Win." (Inspired by filmmaker Hal Hartley's statement
regarding the ouster).
Other things you can to do help (if you haven’t done them
all already π)…
- If you haven’t signed the petition already (and forward
the link to anyone you think who might be interested)…up to 2,915
signatures so very close to 3,000
https://sign.moveon.org/petitions/reinstate-dylan-skolnick-immidately
- Write a letter to the Cinema’s board members and
Huntington Town officials (sample letter and email addresses here)…
https://www.saveourcinema.org/email-resources
- Boycott attending any and all events at the Cinema Arts
Centre
- If a member, call the Cinema (631-423-7611 xt. 0) and
ask for your membership money back and say you’ll rejoin once Dylan
Skolnick is rehired and the current board has stepped down
- If money was donated, call Cinema and ask for it back
and say you’ll re-donate once Dylan Skolnick is rehired and the current
board has stepped down
- Sign up for notices of activities (not only protests
but pop-up fun movie and music events too), and to be kept up to date
about what’s going on at the Save Our Cinema website (if you’re not
already getting emails about these activities…I wasn’t so I signed up
here)…
https://www.saveourcinema.org/
4. No more drought for Huntington, but not for all of
Long Island!
Believe it or not, the south shore and the east end of Long
Island are STILL in Level 1 drought…meaning it’s still abnormally dry. After
all this rain it seems crazy, right? However, we’re still short almost 3 inches
of rain for this time of year.
5.Click activism – every little bit counts and sometime
it doesn’t take much to make a difference!
A.Tell the USDA to get carrageenan (a carcinogen) out of
organic foods…
B.Tell the EPA to ban glyphosate…The Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) is reassessing the safety of glyphosate, a widely used
weedkiller linked to serious health concerns, and it's taking public comments
until November 23, 2026, on which scientific studies it should consider. With a
major scientific 25-year-old landmark study relied upon to prove the safety of
glyphosate recently retracted, it's clear that the EPA must make sure only
sound, independent science goes into its review!
https://advocacy.organicconsumers.org/page/92596/action/1?chain
6.Food safety and COVID, and colds and the flu, food
poisoning and even cyclosporiasis…
Even though it’s been a while since the word “pandemic” has
been bandied about, people are still getting COVID and other illnesses. And the
lessons we learned during the past few years can still come in handy today to
avoid basic things like colds and the flu, food poisoning, and even
cyclosporiasis.
Watch writer J. Kenji Lopez-Alt (son of a Harvard University
geneticist and immunologist, grandson of a chemist, and author of Food Lab:
Better Home Cooking Through Science), talk about COVID-19 and food safety…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkvw9lZ3v3I
And read in more detail here…
After keeping the CSA going thru 2020 and 2021 while the
Cinema Arts Centre was closed (with everyone staying healthy using the simple
practices of wearing face coverings, hand washing, and social distancing), this
is where we are now at this moment in time…
- Face coverings are optional
- Hand washing upon entering the theater is recommended (it’s always a good
idea in preventing COVID as well as the flu and colds)
Why COVID HATES soap (works better than hand sanitizer or
gloves), and we’re talking plain soap, NOT antibacterial soap (the use of which
causes antibiotic resistance which could kill us all ☹)…
https://healthmatters.nyp.org/how-does-handwashing-with-soap-kill-the-coronavirus/
- Will try and keep the CSA area relatively uncrowded if
any future outbreaks of any infectious diseases occur
- Enter near the Box Office entrance, and exit thru the
door that leads out to the Cinema garden and upper parking lot stairs
7. CSA Fall Farm Tour coming up and some news from
the farm
First, the bad news…due to the rain we’ve had since
mid-August, our farm had some serious crop losses of the larger Tomatoes (we’re
talking the 2nd and 3rd plantings…the ones we did get
were from the 1st planting), all the Heirloom Tomatoes, all Melons,
and possibly all of their Winter Squashes. Due to all the rain, many of the veg
were attacked by phytophthora (means plant destroyer), a type of water mold.
There are about 210 species identified and it’s believed there are another 100
to 500 yet to be discovered. As much as it might be a disappointment to us that
we won’t be getting these vegetables this year, perhaps give some thought as to
how this is a lot more devastating to our farmers. I can’t imagine the
financial hit they’re going to take with these crop losses. Other farms out
east are also suffering from these losses from the same reason. SO, if you have
any questions about this, or want to give some words of consolation to our
farmers, the good news is that our CSA Fall Farm Tour is coming up on Saturday,
October 24th, and will start taking reservations now π!
Saturday, October 24th
11am to noon OR noon to 1pm
Green Thumb CSA Annual Fall Harvest Farm Tour
Green Thumb Farm
829 Montauk Hwy
Water Mill
RSVP by responding to this email or leaving a phone
message at 631-421-4864, and tell us your name and the total number of
people coming with you (there’s only so much room in the wagon), and which tour
time you’d like to attend. if you are sharing with someone, you need to use
BOTH your name and the name of the CSA member you’re sharing with.
The CSA farm tour is for CSA Members and their immediate
family members only. Family friendly event…kids welcome! π
If you have any questions about any of the food you’ve
gotten at our CSA, or about Green Thumb Farm and its farmers, OR any questions
about your home vegetable garden, this is the time and place to ask! π
This will be a riding tour on a large tractor-pulled wagon
(kids love this π). We’ll see various
parts of the farm and probably get to feed some animals, maybe get to pick some
food from the fields, and get Pumpkins at the end (not necessarily organic and
not necessarily from our farm, BUT meant more for decorating though they can be
eaten π). This is a rain or shine event. I’ve gone
in the rain and have had just as much fun as when it wasn’t π.
However, if we’re talking torrential downpours or a hurricane, it would be
cancelled.
Everything purchased at the farm stand for those attending
the farm tour will get a 10% discount.
After the last farm tour, some of us will go to Barrow Food
House in Aquebogue for lunch and of course, you’re welcome to come along. Check
out the menu for Barrow Food House…
The only thing I didn’t care for on the menu (and have eaten
most of it π) was the Latkes (thought they were too
greasy), but it’s been a while so I might try them again to see if they’ve
gotten any better π.
8. How best to contact the CSA/suzanne
First thing you might think is…I don’t need or want this
info.
I get that BUT, there might come a time when you wish you
knew…for example…
- Something’s come up at the last minute and you know
you’re going to be running late and would like to have your CSA Share
packed and waiting for you at the Cinema Box Office to pick it up before
the theater closes
- You’re scheduled to help out at the CSA and something
comes up at the last minute and you need to cancel
- Something comes up and you can’t make it to the CSA at
all and you’d like to see if someone can take your CSA Share and hold on
to it till you could pick it up from them
You get the idea π.
I am not a 24/7 connected person, have no desire to be, and
try and keep my CSA and personal communications separate, so…
- Phone…you can leave a message on my landline (yes, they
do still exist π) at 631-421-4864 at any
time 24/7 (keep the ringer off when sleeping), BUT on Thursdays if you
leave a message it needs to be before noon otherwise I won’t hear it till
I get back from the CSA Thursday night
- Email – you can email 24/7 at gtCSAhuntington@gmail.com but
again, if you email after noon on Thursday, I won’t get it till I get back
from the CSA Thursday night
- On Thursdays I am totally incommunicado from noon to
3:30pm so if you want to get in touch with me between those times, the
best option is to make sure you call or email me before noon OR wait till
after 3:30pm and call the Cinema Box Office at 631-423-7611 xt. 0 to reach
me up till 7:30pm
- On Thursdays after 3:30pm (and up to 8pm), call the Box
Office at the Cinema Arts Centre at 631-423-7611 xt. 0 and ask to speak to
someone at the CSA and they will connect the call to the CafΓ©, and we’ll
talk to you directly. It’s not the Cinema staff’s job to take messages for
the CSA, and THEY MIGHT NOT GET IT RIGHT! If you leave a message with
someone at the Box Office, we might not get it in a timely manner or at
all, and they may not get it right (which happened recently and someone
almost didn’t get their CSA Share because of it). Unfortunately, if you’re
calling around 7:30pm, it may be a time where the Box Office is busy
selling tickets, and they either might not pick up the phone, or pick up
the phone and put you on hold. If they don’t pick up the phone, keep
calling, and they should eventually pick up and be able to speak with you.
We are at the CSA cleaning up till about 8pm so you should be able to
catch us before we leave (though if we are ready to leave earlier, we
will).
- FYI – I don’t get emails on my phone at all, and CSA
members aren’t able to text me as I don’t deal with CSA issues on my cell
phone
Consider putting the two phone numbers (suzanne –
631-421-4864 and the Cinema 631-423-7611 xt. 0) in your phone under “CSA” or
“Green Thumb CSA – Huntington” (or whatever works for you to remember where you
put them π) and you can put in the notes the details of
when to call, what days to call, etc.
9. Interested in either having a vegan Thanksgiving this
year, OR just learning to cook some delicious vegan dishes?
And it’s FREE! Though for $28 you can get video versions of
all of the recipes in case you’re more of a visual learner
Starting Sunday, November 1st, join Chef Adam
Sobel for 20 days of vegan recipes leading up to either a delicious
Thanksgiving meal OR just some tasty dishes to add to your meal time
repertoire. PLUS, there’ll be a LIVE cooking class held on Sunday, November 22nd
at 4pm where you can cook along with Chef Adam (available on replay if you
can’t make it for the live class). Chef Adam is very entertaining and very
knowledgeable and his live classes are a lot of fun and you WILL learn a lot.
Sign up here…
10.Emergency situations at the CSA (hurricanes/electronic
communication glitches/medical emergencies…on my part, etc.)
- It’s hurricane season from June 1st till November 30th
(our CSA’s last day is December 10th)! Farmers are more
hardcore than postal workers so your food will be at the CSA between
3:30pm and 7:30pm on Thursdays, pretty much no matter what. Hurricane
Sandy didn’t stop our CSA. We were at the Unitarian Fellowship in
Huntington, and there was no power and there were tree limbs around the
property BUT I checked out the building to make sure there was no danger
for us being in the building or entering the property, and with
flashlights brought by me, we had our CSA. If there’s no emails…show up anyway.
If there’s some problem/issue with the food arriving there should be a
note on the door of the Cinema letting you know what’s up (if we’re not
already in there waiting for you). In a storm situation please bring a
flashlight/lantern as it could be helpful for you and those of us at the
CSA. Again…show up, and at 3:30pm and 5:30pm if there were no emails
please offer to work if you’re able and available. If you feel it’s not
safe/wise for you to venture out, know that any food left at the end of
the CSA will be picked up and donated to the gang at Community Solidarity.
They have NEVER missed a food distribution day even in snow and ice storms
(regardless of the weather…hungry people will still be hungry if there’s
no food to eat).
- Electronic communication is FAR from perfect. IF you
get no CSA emails or responses to your emails on any given week…come to
the CSA anyway. It could be a problem with my laptop, etc. Stuff happens.
- Anything else that might come up (these days…who
knows???)…no emails, etc., come anyway and will do our best to keep
everyone informed as best we can (look for notes on front door of Cinema
if nothing else). The CSA has always happened every week during our 20+
seasons…(lifted from the postal worker motto) - Neither snow nor rain nor
heat nor gloom stays these farmers & CSA crew from the swift
completion of their appointed rounds…to get you your CSA Shares! π
- If there’s an emergency situation in progress, consider
offering to help out at the CSA whether you’re asked to or not.
11.Miss going to the Cinema Arts Centre? Miss their
silent movie programs with live music? Check out the first pop-up of Cinema in
Exile!
Dylan Skolnick, former co-director of the Cinema Arts
Centre, will be presenting a series of pop-up events wherever he can find the
spaces to do them! Support Cinema in Exile until the original Cinema Arts
Centre returns home (and our CSA can be assured of having a home)!
Saturday, October 10th
8 PM
Cinema in Exile presents
F.W. Murnau's FAUST
with live score by The Invincible Czars
South Bay Cinema
495 Montauk Hwy
West Babylon
$20
https://www.southbaymovies.com/
In 2026, The Invincible Czars celebrate 100
years of the silent masterpiece Faust with a brand-new electrifying score that
marries new and old elements of classical music, bossa nova, and even a touch
of heavy metal to bring the movie to life for contemporary audiences,
incorporating a mix of instruments including flute, violin, and electric
guitar.
Faust (1926) - In one of the great achievements
of German silent cinema, F.W. Murnau brought Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe’s legendary tale of temptation, damnation, and
redemption to the screen with breathtaking visual imagination. GΓΆsta
Ekman stars as the aging alchemist Faust, who, desperate to save his
plague-stricken village, enters into a pact with the devilish Mephisto (Emil
Jannings) in exchange for youth and the power to fulfill his desires. But
Faust’s pursuit of pleasure ultimately leads him to Gretchen (Camilla Horn),
with tragic consequences for them both. Murnau’s final German film is a
monumental showcase of Expressionist design, elaborate sets, astonishing
special effects, and some of the most inventive camerawork of the silent era.
At once spectacular and deeply spiritual, Faust transforms
the classic “deal with the devil” story into a haunting meditation on
temptation, guilt, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of love. (Germany,
1926, 106 mins, NR, Silent w/ English intertitles | Dir. F.W. Murnau)
12.What you actually got last week!
Week #17
September 24, 2026
1. Cucumber: Pickling (Kirby) AND Slicing – 1 of each kind -
$1.00
2. Beans, Shelling: Soy/Edamame – 1 bag (3/4 lb.) - $5.50
3. Radishes: French Breakfast – 1 bunch - $4.75
4. Mizuna – 1 bunch - $4.50
5. Lettuce: Romaine – 1 head - $4.50
6. Dill – 1 bunch - $4.50
7. Tomatoes, Mini: Grape, Orange and Yellow Mix – 1 pt. - $
6.25
Total Items: 7
Total Amount: $31.00
We pay our farm $23 per week for our CSA share…some weeks we
get a bit more, some a bit less. This week, it was $8.00 over $23.00. I keep
track and it adds up over the course of our CSA season and so far the total is
$71.50. We seem to always get at least one CSA share’s worth of food every year
that we didn’t pay for (we’re now on our way to getting FOUR weeks’ worth of
extra food π)…some years two. Last year it was five and a
half weeks’ worth extra, so we’re talking $119 worth of food we got gratis. No
idea what it might be this season but in the end…it’s all good! π
Herb Share – September 2B
Mint: Chocolate AND Sorrel
Flower Share – Week #8 (?)
Mixed – Gomphrena, Marigolds and Mint (looks like a variety
of Salvia to me…which is Mint but it’s also not…not sure which variety) (but
not the last week…we usually ONLY get a mixed bunch on the last week of our
Flower Shares)
13.And now, for something completely different…
I ordered this and got wha??? Aren’t there any women making
these mistakes π?

Spaces are
limited, so sign up now and be part of the harvest! Join us in the vineyard of this certified organic (and
also using biodynamic practices) for one of the most rewarding experiences of
the season—our annual Harvest! Guests will roll up their sleeves and help us
hand-pick grapes straight from the vines, sharing in the age-old tradition that
brings each vintage to life. After the harvest, we’ll gather for an intimate
session where you’ll learn the practices behind our certified organic and
biodynamic farming—how we nurture the land, the vines, and the ecosystem to
create truly sustainable wines. The day ends with a well-deserved feast: pizza
paired with a guided tasting of Farrm Wine’s award-winning selections. It’s
hands-on, educational, and delicious—an unforgettable celebration of the
season’s bounty.

Cinema in Exile presents
F.W. Murnau's FAUST
with live score by The Invincible Czars
South Bay Cinema
495 Montauk Hwy
West Babylon
$20
https://www.southbaymovies.com/
In 2026, The Invincible Czars celebrate 100
years of the silent masterpiece Faust with a brand-new electrifying score that
marries new and old elements of classical music, bossa nova, and even a touch
of heavy metal to bring the movie to life for contemporary audiences,
incorporating a mix of instruments including flute, violin, and electric
guitar. Faust (1926) In one of the great achievements of
German silent cinema, F.W.
F.W. Murnau)
