Greetings!
It’s a little less than two weeks until our last CSA farm
tour of the year!
Tour our CSA farm, Green Thumb Farm, in a tractor-pulled
wagon hosted by the farmers that grow our food π…pick a Pumpkin to take
home to eat or decorate…check out the farm stand and get a 10% discount on
EVERYTHING you buy (including Green Thumb merch like t-shirts/hats/ etc.)…meet
for lunch at farm-to-table Barrow Food House after the last tour at about
1:30pm (try it…you’ll like it π).
Have a kitchen garden? Had some things that didn’t quite
work out this year? This is also a great opportunity to get some free gardening
advice from people in the know (our farmers π)!
Get back to me and let me know if you’re going, how many
people are going with you, and what time.
If you’re interested in either providing a ride for someone or getting a ride from someone, let me know (I’ll have room for 2 in my
SUV).
RSVP now (the tractor only holds so many humans at a time π)…

Pick your tour time, and let’s go! πThis
is one of only two times during the year that we CSA Members get invited to
tour our farm, and get to take something home to eat…for FREE! π
This is a tractor-pulled wagon farm tour for CSA members and immediate family
only (if you share a CSA Share with someone usually one person takes one tour,
and the other person takes the 2nd one…IF you’re the share partner
and not the CSA member, make your reservation under the CSA member’s name).
Rain or shine (unless we’re talking torrential rain/thunderstorms). So far, the weather looks cool and a little breezy (a pleasant autumn
day π).
There will be a 10% discount to all CSA Members who take the
tour on all purchases made at the Green Thumb Farm farm stand after your tour.
Sweet! π
Dress appropriately for walking on dirt roads and in the
fields (sandals/high heels not recommended), and for being in the sun during
peak sun exposure hours (sunglasses/hat/sunscreen, etc.), and warmer clothing
and possible rain gear if need be. I’ve never gotten ticks on one of these
tours yet, but I’d still do a thorough tick check once you got back home (they
have a roving band of marauding Guinea Hens that take care of eating most of
them I believe π).
Planning on going to lunch after the last tour at Barrow
Food House in Riverhead (farm-to-table and reasonably priced for the area), everyone’s invited (they have indoor and outdoor dining options). Check out the
menu…
I'll be hanging out at the farm till 1pm to gather anyone who wants to go to eat together at Barrow Food House)
