CSA Rhubarb

Hi!

No Rhubarb info sheet but here’s some info…

If you’re not a fan of Rhubarb (or any single food item), try preparing it at least six COMPLETELY different ways (styles of cooking…bake/broil/steam/stir-fry, etc, recipes from different countries, different textures, sweet/savory, using it as a small part of a dish that has other ingredients as the main event) before giving it the heave ho (unless you have allergic reactions or sensitivities…very different scenario)…you might just be very pleasantly surprised.

Here’s a Rhubarb article written by someone who wasn’t a fan of Rhubarb…

And an article that talks about trying it five completely different ways (my kind of article!  )…

I can’t tell you how many people over the years have LOVED something I made them to eat out of something they thought they HATED, when it was just that they never had it made in a different way from what they didn’t like (or whoever made it wasn’t a very good or creative cook).

CSA member Heather Engle’s fella made this recipe (sounds like a winner to me!)…

Rhubarb is a vegetable so savory preparations are an appropriate option for those who aren’t crazy about it sweetened…or just want to change things up…

The NY Times dining section featured Rhubarb in a savory recipe with Chicken this week in the Dining Section…
